December 4, 2025 – The Women’s Committee of TCU/IAM Local Lodge 2508 recently organized a highly successful canned food drive to benefit families supported by the House of Ruth. This essential community resource provides safety, services, and hope to women and children affected by domestic violence.
With the holiday season approaching, the TCU/IAM Local Lodge 2508 Women’s Committee wanted to make a meaningful impact. “We chose the House of Ruth because their mission directly aligns with our committee’s goal of supporting and uplifting vulnerable women and children in our area,” said Alexandra Villarreal, Head of Trustees, LL 2508 Women’s Committee. “Providing the ingredients for a hearty Thanksgiving meal felt like a small but powerful way to help these families experience peace, comfort, and gratitude during a difficult time.”
The response from Local Lodge 2508 members was overwhelming. Through the generosity and solidarity of the lodge’s dedicated members, the drive resulted in an impressive collection of nonperishable foods and essential supplies, enough to help ensure that many families could enjoy a warm and dignified holiday meal.
By coming together with purpose and compassion, the members of Local Lodge 2508 demonstrated what it looks like when solidarity extends beyond the workplace and into the lives of those who need it most.
