TCU/IAM Executive Council Elects Katrina Coleman as New National Vice President

February 4, 2026 – The Transportation Communications Union/IAM is proud to announce that Katrina Coleman has been elected National Vice President by the TCU Executive Council, effective March 1, 2026. Sister Coleman brings nearly four decades of dedication to the labor movement and a proven record of leadership, advocacy, and service to TCU members. Her union journey began in 1986 when she was hired as a clerk for Amtrak in Philadelphia, where she became involved in union activism.

In 2014, Coleman was elected Local Chairperson of TCU/IAM Local 1351, a position she held through December 31, 2022. In 2016, she was appointed Assistant National Representative for TCU/IAM Unit 86 and later appointed National Representative. In those roles, she has supported AMTRAK and SEPTA local lodges, represented members across the system, and contributed to the Union’s national work. In 2022, she also founded TCU’s Women’s Committee, FIERCE, creating a formal space to elevate issues impacting Local Chairwomen and drawing on the Union’s shared values and connectivity to support meaningful community outreach and service. Katrina has also served on TCU’s Education Committee for several years, mentoring new Local Chairpersons at Leadership classes.

National President Matt Hollis praised Coleman’s leadership and service, stating, “Katrina has built her career on fearless and compassionate representation of our members. She does the hard work, asks the tough questions, and never loses sight of who she is fighting for. I have full confidence in her judgment, her integrity, and her ability to lead at the highest level of this Union. The entire Executive Council looks forward to working alongside her as she brings her voice, perspective, and strength to our team.”

National Secretary-Treasurer Greg Kocialski echoed that confidence, adding, “Sister Coleman has earned the respect of this Council through her steady leadership, experience, and demonstrated commitment to the membership.”

Coleman’s election also marks a historic first for TCU/IAM, as she becomes the first person of color elected to serve on the TCU Executive Council.

The TCU Executive Council congratulates Vice President Coleman on her election and looks forward to her continued leadership and service on behalf of the membership.
