Babylon, NY, September 12, 2025 — This morning, a TCU member working for the MTA was threatened by an individual under the influence of some substance. The person made repeated verbal threats of violence.
A ticket clerk immediately contacted the MTA Police Department, and law enforcement is actively investigating the incident. The suspect left the scene before police arrived and is still being sought.
“We warned this would happen. Because of Governor Hochul’s lies and misinformation, TCU members on the LIRR are being threatened and attacked. This must stop. Governor Hochul and LIRR President Rob Free, stop the misinformation and lies. If any of our members are hurt or worse, the responsibility is on YOU. Their disregard for our members’ safety is a disgrace,” said TCU/IAM National President Artie Maratea.
