TCU/IAM, ARASA and BRC Reach Tentative Agreements with CPKC

November 4, 2025 – The Transportation Communications Union/IAM (TCU/IAM) and the Brotherhood Railway Carmen Division (BRC) have reached a Tentative Agreement with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). This agreement largely mirrors the five-year national pattern established with CSXT, Norfolk Southern, BNSF, and the National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC).

The Tentative Agreement provides 17.5% General Wage Increases (18.77% compounded) over the life of the agreement, improved health insurance benefits at no additional cost to employees, and accelerated vacation benefits for a majority of members.

These agreements cover all the TCU clerical employees and all ARASA Supervisors. For the BRC, this agreement includes MidSouth Rail Corporation, TexMex Railway Company, KCS, SouthRail Corporation, Delaware & Hudson Railway Company, and Soo Line Railroad Company.

“We continue to make progress across the industry, and this Tentative Agreement with CPKC reflects that momentum,” said Artie Maratea, TCU National President. “Our members wanted fair wages, better benefits, and a timely agreement. We are the first unions to reach TA’s with CPKC this round and I commend our bargaining committees for their tireless efforts..”

“This Tentative Agreement again shows what can be accomplished through focused and collaborative bargaining,” said Don Grissom, BRC General President. “These wage increases and quality-of-life improvements recognize the critical contributions our members make every day to the success of the rail industry.”

Ratification materials will be distributed to members in the coming days.
