TCU and IAM Endorse Bridget Fleming

Transportation Communications Union and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Endorse Bridget Fleming

Noyac, NY — Today, Suffolk County Legislator Bridget Fleming, Democratic candidate for New York’s 1st Congressional District announces the endorsement of the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). The announcement confirms the strong support that unions are giving exclusively to Fleming in the race. To date, every organized labor union to endorse in the race has supported Fleming.

“The support of TCU/IAM, a labor union that captures the pride of working men and women throughout the transportation industry, is especially meaningful to me. As the daughter of a labor union leader, I am honored to stand with those who continue the fight for workers, in this essential and historically important industry.” Fleming said. “To succeed in November, we must regain the confidence of Suffolk County workers. With the support of TCU/IAM and the many other unions standing with us in our campaign, we can deliver a message that resonates with voters throughout NY-1 and win,” Fleming added.

“TCU/IAM is proud to support Bridget’s campaign for Congress,” said TCU National Vice President William Decarlo. “We’ve always had a history of supporting candidates that support our members, and Bridget fits the bill. We firmly believe Bridget will bring a strong voice for workers to Congress,” Decarlo added.

Fleming’s Campaign Manager, Seth Cohen added, “As the new year begins, we are continuing the momentum that we built in 2021. The campaign continues to pick up support from political leaders and organizations because Bridget is the candidate with the profile and record of success that Democrats want and need to win in November. It is telling that no Democratic congressional campaign has consolidated this much early support in a primary in recent memory, and the support just keeps growing. Bridget is the only candidate in the race who can flip this seat in November,”
