TCU and IAM Elected to Executive Council of AFL-CIO

Yesterday during the AFL-CIO 2022 Convention TCU/IAM National President Maratea and IAM International President Martinez were both re-elected to serve as Vice President on the AFL-CIO Executive Council.

AFL-CIO delegates made this a historic election by electing Liz Shuler as the first woman President and Fred Redmond as the first African American Secretary Treasurer to lead the Organization.

“These are exciting times for unions” said National President Maratea.  “I want to congratulate President Shuler and Secretary Treasurer Redmond. They are definitely the leadership we need as we face the challenges ahead.  I look forward to working together with them as we organize and rise.”
