TCU Unit 167 Congratulates Tom Suozzi on Special Election Victory

TCU Local Lodge 177 Board Members James Urban, Craig Sakowski, and Henry Felton attend Labor Rally for Suozzi.

The Transportation Communications Union (TCU/IAM) congratulates Congressman-elect Tom Suozzi on winning the special election for New York’s 3rd Congressional District on Tuesday, February 13th. A longtime supporter of rail labor, Tom Suozzi has specifically supported TCU Unit 167 members throughout his career. TCU Unit 167 represents various crafts at Long Island Railroad (LIRR), Metro North, and New Jersey Transit. Representative Suozzi received TCU’s endorsement shortly after he announced his run for the seat.

“Tom Suozzi has always been an ally to TCU members, fighting to defend railroad workers, and we were proud to endorse and support his return to Congress,” said TCU National Vice President Nick Peluso.

“TCU Unit 167 members and local officers were out in force for Tom Suozzi because they know the real world benefit of having our allies in elected office,” said TCU Unit 167 National Representative Anthony Stevens.

“Tom Suozzi has a history of supporting our members and their families. From his efforts to keep LIRR stations open and staffed, his votes in Congress, such as supporting the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, or his overall commonsense approach to governing, we’re ecstatic to see Tom return to Congress,” said TCU National President Artie Maratea, a former NY-3rd resident himself. “We look forward to working with him and others to support legislation that benefits Long Island’s working families.”
