August 26, 2025 – The Transportation Communications Union and the Brotherhood Railway Carmen Division (BRC) have each successfully ratified their Tentative Agreements with Union Pacific Railroad. These agreements largely mirror the five-year agreements reached late last year with CSXT, Norfolk Southern and BNSF, and the National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC). The agreement provides 17.5% General Wage Increases (18.77% compounded), improves health insurance benefits with no additional cost for employees, and accelerates vacation benefits for a majority of members.
“We have made significant accomplishments in this round of bargaining. Our members wanted a contract without years of mediation and unnecessary delays. We heard them, and this agreement accomplishes that. I congratulate our members and commend both of our bargaining committees for their hard work throughout this process. I also appreciate UPRR for coming to the table and getting this done. It was the right thing to do for their employees and our members,” said Artie Maratea, TCU National President.
“This agreement provides the highest wage increases outside of a Presidential Emergency Board (PEB) in recent history and secured vacation improvements, which were long overdue. Our members deserve a contract that reflects the value of the hard work they do every day,” said Don Grissom, BRC General President.
