A Message from TCU/IAM National President Artie Maratea Regarding Presidential Emergency Board (PEB) 250

PEB 250 kicked off this afternoon in Washington D.C. Hearings will continue tomorrow and throughout the week in front of three very capable and qualified arbitrators who were appointed by President Biden.

TCU/IAM and Brotherhood of Railway Carmen are part of the coalition that includes all of Rail Labor and we look forward to presenting our case to the PEB.  Linked below is a copy of the joint press release being issued today by our Coalition. There, you will find copies of both the Union and Carrier proposals. As you can see, our proposal centers around the fact that our members deserve a fair contract that provides real wage growth, maintains our healthcare benefits and appropriately recognizes the contribution of our members hard work through a pandemic and which made the Carrier’s record profits possible. Meanwhile, the Carrier’s proposal is the very definition of corporate greed.

I do not expect to be able to provide any updates regarding the hearings until after the PEB makes their official recommendations to the parties. However, I will provide updates as soon as it is appropriate.

I appreciate your continued voice of support and the confidence demonstrated by our membership. TCU/IAM and BRC are committed to continuing the fight to deliver a contract our members will be proud of.
